Since 1968, the Heritage Ball has served as one of Historic Columbus’ major fundraisers. Historic Columbus is a community-wide, non-profit, preservation organization. From inception, the purpose of the Ball has been to assist in the funding of Historic Columbus’ preservation projects by highlighting Columbus’ heritage.
Always in June, the evening showcases a historic site while honoring many who have contributed to the heritage of this community. Historic sites, such as the Springer Opera House, One Arsenal Place, and Bibb Mill; as well as, private homes, such as the Bullard-Hart-Sampson House, St. Elmo, and Gordonido, are constant reminders of how historic preservation benefits our community’s economic development and quality of life.
