Staying in town for spring break? Here are five ways to keep your kids entertained around Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley.
1. Go to a Spring Festival
The International Cherry Blossom Festival. Take a day trip to Macon and say hello to spring at the International Cherry Blossom Festival. Now through March 31, visitors will be treated to one of the most extravagant displays of springtime color in the nation. Each March, Macon becomes a pink, cotton-spun paradise as over 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in all their glory. Festival events include concerts, arts and crafts, outdoor movies, food trucks and more.
2. See Spring Flowers
Callaway Resort & Gardens. Spring break is the peak bloom time for azaleas– you’ll be awed at the sight of 20,000 of them, along with blooming dogwoods and tulips. For a live camera feed of the azaleas, check out the following link: https://www.callawaygardens.com/azaleawatch_liveupdate/. There are plenty of things to at Callaway, in addition to seeing the flowers. Check out the woodland walking trails, explore the 10 miles of paved bicycle trails, and try a zipline adventure course.
3. Watch a FREE Kids Movie
Kidz Flicks: Spring Break Edition. Join us at the Columbus Public Library during Spring Break for a FREE movie and snack! We will be showing popular, family-friendly movies each day of the break in the auditorium. For more information, call 706-243-2679.
