For the first time in Columbus, Oxbow Meadows is thrilled to offer the Georgia Master Naturalist certification program, an adult environmental education course developed by UGA for people who want to learn more about natural resources and the environment.
This series includes eight classes that are a combination of thought-provoking lectures and outside, hands-on learning. Unless otherwise noted by the field trip leader, classes will run from 9am until 4pm.

August 7 What is a Master Naturalist/Reptiles
August 21 Behind-the-scenes tour of Auburn University’s Southeastern Raptor Center and Arboretum
September 4 Longleaf pine forest field trip with The Nature Conservancy
September 18 Adopt-A-Stream certification/Columbus Water Works tour
October 2 Amphibians/Wetlands
October 16 Community ecology/Importance of honeybees
November 6 Geology of Columbus
November 13 Birds/Graduation
