Home Scholars is a homeschooling support group in the Chattahoochee Valley area for elementary-aged students. We meet regularly to provide opportunities for fellowship, encouragement, and activities for ourselves and our children. This group is Christian-based, but we welcome ANYONE interested in participating, regardless of religious preference.
There is no one teacher in Home Scholars. We are all teachers, to our own children as well as to the children and parents who participate. Each family is involved with the planning of field trips, activities, crafts, etc. for our group.
Meetings are on Thursdays at 11:00 am at the Northside Recreation Center in Columbus unless we have a field trip scheduled for the day. Typically, we have a parent-hosted activity of some sort, followed by lunch and then we head outdoors or to the gym for recreation/game time. We also occasionally meet on alternate days for field trips.

About joining Home Scholars:
— For the safety of our group, anyone added to the page must have attended an event. If you know of someone who is interested in joining, please invite them to an event and then I can add them.
— Every family is required to host a group activity. Do not be nervous about this. 馃檪 While some parents feel comfortable teaching a lesson, others may simply want to select an activity or craft online and have families complete it together.
— When it is your turn to host an activity, make sure you post your supply list on the Friday before so families have ample time to gather their supplies.
— If you wish to attend a field trip, you must RSVP to the created event so we can provide an accurate count to the venue that is hosting us.
