Basic Wilderness First Aid Certification
Wilderness First Aid – WFA (16 hours) is a 2 day course for those who are involved in serious wilderness activities. This course is the choice of many recreational skiers, climbers, mountaineers, and hiking trail guides. Hands-on, learn how to save life and limb during the critical minutes or hours before ambulance/hospital arrival.
This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.
Course content includes:
o Preparation and Assessment
o Preventing and Caring for Injuries
o Environmental Hazards
o Biological Hazards
o Medical Emergencies
Basic Wilderness First Aid – is an intensive 8 hour course (1st those who are involved in wilderness recreation. This course may also meet the needs of volunteers and professionals who lead groups on short trips in relatively low-risk situations.
This 2-day, Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course, taught by seasoned instructors from Outside World Outfitters Columbus , will help you prepare for the unexpected.

Location: Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center [Directions]
Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Please come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.
Cost: $175.00 per person for Wilderness First Aid Certification (two day course)
OR
$89.00 per person for Basic Wilderness First Aid Certification (one day course)
