Can the act of listening help us build community? Dave Isay will answer with a resounding “YES.”
In a career spanning two decades, Dave Isay has become one of the most well-known and beloved documentarians of American life. Join us for an evening with a master listener and story gatherer–New York Times best-selling author, MacArthur “Genius” and Guggenheim Fellow, five-time Peabody Award winner and founder of the acclaimed StoryCorps Oral History Project.
Mr. Isay’s lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. on February 28 at the Columbus Public Library on Macon Road, followed by a book signing and reception. Admission is free and open to the public, and seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Books will be available for sale.
This is the second year that MidTown, Inc. joins with the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries to present Building Common Ground, an ongoing discussion of issues that divide and unite us as a community. This year’s series is made possible by a generous grant from the Knight Fund at the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, Inc.
