MWR Flea Market
Located at Stilwell Field (across the street from the Post Office), this event is open to the public for shopping and selling. Expect lots of traffic and thousands of shoppers. Space rental starts at $15 and can be reserved on line at benningmwr.com February 10-April 29. For more information, call 706-545-9636. Register at http://www.benningmwr.com/.
Post wide Yard Sale
Make a day of it! The yard sales will be conducted across all of the post’s housing areas, to include main post, Custer Terrace, Bouton Heights, Davis Hill, Lavoie Manor, Patton Village and Upatoi Terrace.
Buyers are encouraged to park in a high sale-density area and walk the short distances from sale to sale.
There is no set route. Expect lots of traffic. Wear good walking shoes. Bring plenty of change. And remember that post speed limits are very low, 15-25 mph in most places, and using a cell phone while driving is not permitted.
Fort Benning Thrift Shop
From 10am-2pm, the Fort Benning Thrift Shop will be open for shopping, consigning (until noon) and for dropping off all those yard sale leftovers. The thrift shop is open to the public. It’s a great place to shop for gently used goods (furniture, clothing, appliances, toys book and more) from all over the world. And remember, profits generated through thrift shop sales go right back into the community through scholarships and benevolence grants and donations. Everybody wins!
What to know if you go
The Postwide Yard Sale is conducted twice a year. Selling is restricted to post residents, but buying is open to all.
