As a part of the Georgia Traffic Injury Prevention Institute, UGA Extension Program’s Child Passenger Safety Technician Course, there will be a FREE Car Seat Check on Friday, October 4th from 9 am – 11 am. The car seat check will take place at the Columbus Health Department. Participants should drive to the gated parking lot, which is located directly across the street from the back of the Health and Human Services Building, 2100 Comer Avenue.
If you are interested in participating in the free car seat check, call Safe Kids at 706 321-6183 from October 1-3 during the hours of 9 am – 2 pm to make an appointment. Appointments are not required, but those who have an appointment will be given priority. Car seat checks usually take 30 minutes per car seat.
Caregivers are asked to bring their vehicle’s owner’s manual and their car seat instruction book, if they have them. If a child’s car seat is deemed inappropriate or expired, car seat replacements may be given.
