In case you missed the news this weekend, a local family is raising funds for their daughter who needs a double lung transplant. Eve Brown, 11, has Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a genetic disease that affects the lungs and pancreas.

Eve has undergone numerous surgeries since she was just an infant. She now has a permanent feeding tube in her stomach to receive IV treatments and supplements. Her right lung capacity is less than 50 percent. Her left lung no longer functions at all.
Eve desperately needs a double lung transplant.
According to WTVM, a double lung transplant is available for Eve provided her parents can get her to Houston, Texas by the first of September and be listed as Texas residents. Eve’s mother, Natalie Brown believes there is a strong chance that Eve will make it on the donor list by September 11, 2013, as long as they raise enough money to get her there.
Despite these challenges, Eve does her best to be active. She loves arts and crafts and practices karate when she is able.
How you can help:
Fundraiser: On Sunday, August 25, 2013, at 12 (noon) the Brown family will be hosting a Spaghetti Fundraiser Lunch at Midway United Methodist Church on 4442 Buena Vista Road in Columbus. Checks can be made payable to Midway United Methodist Church (Earmarked for Eve Brown). The family is in need of reliable transportation (their existing car is not in stable condition) and money for living expenses. Donations of arts and crafts supplies for Eve are also welcome.
