Georgia’s tax free weekend used to be an annual event. But legislatures haven’t passed the necessary bill since 2009. Fortunately, that changed this year. The state of Georgia is offering one tax free weekend during 2012. It applies mainly to clothing and school supplies and is intended to coincide with families’ back-to-school shopping needs. By planning ahead, you can help your family save even more money by taking advantage of this savings opportunity.
Georgia’s Tax Free Weekend is scheduled for August 10-11, 2012. The tax-free savings applies to the following items:
- Clothing and footwear under $100
- School supplies under $20
- Computers/computer equipment under $1,000
