The Tranmer Family Journey: Columbus native, Tom Tranmer was sick for over 1 1/2 years, but after many tests, appointments, and hospital stays, they found out he has hereditary liver disease, which is now Chronic Liver Failure. The doctors appointments, medications, co-pays, gas, hospital stays, and missed work have put the Tranmer Family finances in a bind.
The good news: As of May 22, 2013, Tom was placed on the Liver Transplant List for the State of Georgia! The family couldn’t be more excited, but they need help! Without insurance, Tom’s Post Transplant medications alone will cost an estimated total of $10,000/month. This does not include the family’s stay at The Mason House near Emory where they will be staying as soon as he is able to leave Emory Hospital after the transplant, food, gas, medications, and their bills back home.
