Children in Phenix City can now cool off at Friendship Park behind the Central Activity Center in the new splash area.
“It seems to be an asset to the community, especially in that area. I live in this area and every time I pass by the street it’s always full,” said Phenix City Councilor Michelle Walker, adding that she couldn’t take any credit for planning the project in her district. “It was planned before I was elected.”
The city held its official grand opening on July 21 for the Splash Park, but it’s been open to the public for more than a month.
The park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
