18th Annual Linwood Cemetery Fall Ramble
October 23, 2014 from 5pm – 6:30pm
The Ramble will offer sunset cemetery tours with a focus on photography. After the tours, guests are invited to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres under a sprawling oak in the Old Section of the cemetery.
“Linwood Through the Lens,” will feature artistic photographs of the cemetery along with stops at the graves of some noted Columbus photographers, including Louis Pacetty, Ernest Jungerman, Constantine De George, Tiffany Moore and others.
Tour Stops: Some of the tour stops will be at graves that are featured in a new photography book, Linwood Through the Lens, which will make its premier at the Ramble. From January 1 through December 31, 2013, as part of photography competition, local photographers swarmed the cemetery snapping photos of tombstones, fences, urns, statuary and the like. Over 400 photos were submitted to a juried competition, with 150 being selected and included in the publication of a coffee table style book. The book will be available for purchase at the Ramble. Please note also that on October 30th, there will be an exhibit of the published photos at the Rankin in downtown Columbus.
Tour Times: Ramble tours will start every 15 minutes beginning at 5:00 p.m., and will continue till approximately 6:30 p.m. or until all guests have taken the tour. Visitors with special needs are asked to come to the 5:00 p.m. tour, when golf carts will be available. Following the tours, ramblers will enjoy a bounty of delicious hors d’oeuvres (prepared by local caterer Jodi Ressmeyer), along with a well-stocked bar.
