A Memorial Day Commemoration
May 31, 2010
1-2 p.m.
Port Columbus will hold a brief Commemoration in honor of all who fought for our country, especially those in the Sea Service (Navy and Marines) during the Civil War.
Director Bruce Smith will speak briefly on the service of these brave individuals, often forgotten in Civil War history, who contributed so much. Afterward, a cannon salute will be fired on the Museum’s huge original Civil War cannon, originally placed on the CSS Jackson, the remains of which are housed inside the museum.
This event is FREE and open to the public, in memory of all who serve.
Port Columbus is located at 1002 Victory Drive, next to the Softball Complex.
