New Natural Family Planning Series Set to Begin at St. Anne Catholic Church
Natural Family Planning Families Come in All Sizes
A new series of Natural Family Planning (NFP) classes will begin on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at St. Anne Catholic Church. The mission of the NFP ministry is to teach the language of the body that is spoken through human fertility. NFP, taught through semi-annual classes, is fertility awareness, the knowledge of a couple’s signs of fertility. Applying this knowledge is over 99 percent effective in postponing a pregnancy and can be very helpful when trying to achieve one.
Practicing Natural Family Planning does not automatically equal having a large family, although many NFP couples report becoming more welcoming of children through NFP. Some are surprised to learn that the Catholic Church calls couples to Responsible Parenthood, which means couples aim to balance generosity and Christian prudence.
There are many advantages to NFP, including:
1. It’s green – Couples who are health-conscious or concerned about environmental issues are very pleased to find an all-natural method of family planning.
2. Better marriages – Many couples find that learning NFP together and living the NFP lifestyle strengthens their marriage.
3. Safe & healthy – Natural Family Planning is safe and healthy because it is 100% natural.
4. Highly effective – NFP has a 99 percent method effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.
5. Morally acceptable – NFP is the only form of family planning that respects God’s plan for love, marriage and sexuality.
