The new 54,340 square foot Publix grocery store in Cross County Plaza off Macon Road opened for business this morning.
The new store gives shoppers a look at the Florida-based company’s newest prototype, including new, calmer colors, different lighting and spaciousness. Store managers say the store has 17,000 more square feet of space compared to the old location next door. The extra space means room for more products like organic produce, imported wines and natural foods.
Additional features include a full-service meat department and deli and drive-thru pharmacy. The store added 25 positions to its 150 member staff.
