Now Forming: Moms in Prayer Groups
Now that school is in full swing, mothers everywhere can find plenty of things to worry about over their children:
“Will she have a good relationship with this new teacher?”
“Will he make any friends this year?
“How is my child going to make the adjustment from elementary school to middle school?”
“Can my children handle the peer pressure they will face in high school?”
With Moms in Prayer International, (formerly Moms in Touch International) moms can do more than just sit back and worry about what happens to their children once they are dropped off at school.
Moms in Prayer began simply as one mom who was concerned about her two oldest children as they began junior high school. Fern Nichols, founder of Moms in Prayer International, prayed for God to send one other mom who shared the same burden to pray over their children and schools. God answered that prayer. What began as one small group of moms has now spread to groups in all 50 states and across the world.
So what is Moms in Prayer?
- Two or more women who meet regularly to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers, and administrators.
- Mothers, grandmothers or anyone who is willing to pray for a specific child and school.
- Moms who believe that prayer makes a difference.
- A non-profit, donation-supported ministry in 140-plus countries.
“I love Moms in Prayer because it is a chance to pray with a group of moms that want to cover our school, teachers, and kids with prayer,” says Claire Dunlap, member of a local Moms in Prayer group in Columbus. “It is also a great way to connect and fellowship with other moms that believe in the power of prayer.”
The mission of Moms in Prayer is to impact children and schools worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray, with the vision that every school in the world would be covered in prayer.
