Callaway Gardens’ Discovery Programs offer something for everyone this October. Here is a list of family activities for October.
Every Saturday in October
The following Saturday Discovery Programs run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.:
Vegetable Garden
- Scavenger Hunt ~ Have fun solving riddles and learning more about the fruits and vegetables.
- Autumn Pot’em ~ Pot up some parsley to take home and grow in your own garden.
- Leaf Pounding ~ Colorful images of flower petals and leaves dye cloth as you pound away.
Discovery Center
- Feed the Robin ~ Photo Op! Small children will enjoy feeding the 3-ft tall robin “worms”
- Rubbing Station ~ Children can watch nature images emerge before their eyes as they rub crayons across paper
- Backyard Wildlife Habitat Scavenger Hunt ~ Families will enjoy this fun scavenger hunt in the Backyard Wildlife Habitat
Sibley Center
- Mediterranean Scavenger Hunt ~ Meander through the Mediterranean section of the Sibley Center to find the clues to this fun family activity
- Mum Kites ~ Learn how to transform a sheet of paper into a simple to make kite
