“Painting with Fire: Works by Betsy Eby” Exhibition Opens
This exhibition features encaustic paintings by Betsy Eby dating from 2007 through 2012. The medium of encaustic in which she works involves layering heated beeswax and colored pigments using knives, brushes and a blow-torch. The liquid or paste is then applied to a surface such as canvas, wood, or Masonite.
Trained as a classical pianist, Eby creates works that capture the movement and rhythms found in music and the natural world around her.
