Race The Hooch Fundraiser For Oxbow Meadows

Join Outside World in a kayak race to support the development of a kayak/canoe take out location located at Oxbow Meadows. This race will be 7 1/4 miles long along calm water south of the rapids on the Chattahoochee River. Those interested in signing up should contact the Outside World of Columbus to register.
Location:
Start: Phenix City Amphitheater Ramp
End: 7 1⁄4 Mile take out at Oxbow Meadows
Time: 9 AM Start
Shuttle will be provided from Oxbow Meadows back to the amphitheater for participants and their boats.
Registration Details:
Registration will be at Outside World at 1025 Broadway Columbus GA.
Deadline: October 20
Registration Costs:
$30 for Solo
$45 for Tandem
Limited kayaks will be available for rent at Outside World. $20 including Paddle and PFD. Just mention you’re in the race!
Kayak Divisions/Classes:
Solo
Tandem Mixed Youth Adult Tandem (12 and younger)
All Canoes and Kayaks must be human powered. Mirage and Propel units are not allowed. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. All boats must be human powered. All racers must have a Coast Guard approved life vest present on the vessel.
Handicap will be provided for those in shorter vessels.
Prizes will be awarded for each category!
