Oxbow Meadows presents
Reptile Fest 2014
Saturday, April 26, 2014 | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM EDT
Reptile Fest is Oxbow’s premier event of the year! Perfect for children of ALL ages (adults too!), this event will delight, intrigue, and educate even the most “snake-scared” humans in the Valley! This year’s Reptile Fest will feature a live reptile show, the Hiss America Costume Contest, and a “behind the scenes” look at all of Oxbow’s resident reptiles! So strap on your safari hat and your thinking cap because we are going to explore the real-life world of reptiles! #OxbowEducates
AGENDA
10am: Gates open
All Day: Tortoise Trot
11am: “Verdi” reading
1pm: Hiss America
2pm: Live Reptile Show
3pm: RepFest ends
NEW THIS YEAR: Instead of bringing your reptiles, we want you to BE the reptile! You or your child can dress up as a snake, a turtle, or even an alligator! We’ve got some awesome prizes planned for the best costume, so start crafting NOW! Contestants must still pay the $5 admission fee to gain entry into Reptile Fest, but there is no charge for entering the costume contest.
COST: Only $5 per person (children ages three and under get in free!)
Muscogee Moms will be onsite with a #FREE coloring craft and fun activity for kids! Be sure to stop by our table and say Hi!
What to Know If You Go:
- Take plenty of cash! In addition to the admission fee, a number of activities will be available for a nominal fee.
- Wear your walking shoes! There are several nature trails around Oxbow for exploring, including the Riverwalk.
- Don’t forget your bug spray and sunscreen. Most of the activities will be outdoors.
- Pack extra water and snacks. Concessions will be available for purchase. But you may want to have water on hand for your thirsty kids.
- There will be two entrances to the event–one for cash and one for credit cards.
