Improvements to Infrastructure and Computers Complete
(Columbus, GA) – After a long-planned renovation, the South Columbus Public Library will reopen its doors to the public this upcoming Monday, February 4th at 10:00am.
The library, part of the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries, has served the South Columbus area since opening in 1992. This has been the first major renovation to the building that includes both infrastructure and cosmetic improvements.
A primary focus of the renovation was the installation of a new roof that will eliminate recurring leakage problems with the current structure. The library has also received new audio-visual equipment to help support its growing number of programs for children, teens and adults. In addition to new paint and carpet, patrons will find easier access to the public computers and a modified shelving plan that will allow greater staff and public access to the collection.
