RiverCenter for the Performing Arts is the centerpiece of Columbus’ arts and entertainment district. RiverCenter’s state-of-the-art facilities include the 2,000-seat Bill Heard Theatre and the 430-seat Legacy Hall. The theatre has hosted a variety of world-renowned performers, international ensembles, and national touring productions such as Broadway shows Chicago, Miss Saigon, and Cats.
In addition to its Mainstage productions, the RiverCenter features a Discovery Matinee Series for school-age children. The series showcases innovative presentations of literature and STEAM content. NEW THIS YEAR: Some of our children’s titles will have “sensory-friendly” showings. These feature lower sound levels, brighter lighting, before-show tactile tours, a quiet room, and trained volunteers.
