Each Saturday during Celebrate Spring! bring the children and experience “Animal Encounters” at the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. See and learn about a chinchilla, blue-tongue skink and a corn snake.
In April, enjoy complimentary Discovery Programs with the Education Staff weekly at 2:30 p.m.: Mondays- Wildflower Walk; Tuesdays-Vegetable Garden Stroll; Thursdays – Behind the Scenes Greenhouse Production Tour and Fridays Founder’s Azalea Stroll.
Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday, April 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with hunts for age-specific groups (Toddlers to 3 years; 4 to 5 year olds; 6 to 8 year olds; 9 to 11 year olds; 12 to 18 year olds; Parents & Seniors 4:30). Bring your Easter basket.
Be on the lookout for the Easter Bunny. He could be anywhere in the Gardens on Saturday or Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, also be on the lookout for a walking tree. Bring the camera and be ready for a photo!
A majestic Easter Sunrise Service will be at the 7:30 a.m. Easter Sunday morning. Free admission will be available for the Sunrise Service until 8 a.m.
Scrumptious Easter Lunches will be available in the Mountain Creek Ballrooms (11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Plant Room (Noon to 5 p.m.) and Piedmont Dining Room (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.). Reservations are suggested in all but the Plant Room.
Families will have lots of children activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 10th and 17th including Flower Kite Making; Scavenger Hunts in the Backyard Wildlife Habitat, Vegetable Garden and the Sibley Center’s Mediterranean Garden; Spring for a Sprout where children can pot a plant a take it home to watch grow; and more.
On April 23, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) will perform a Symphony on the Sand under the stars at Robin Lake Beach. The Grammy-award winning orchestra will perform at 8 p.m. Stage-front beach tables and general admission seating are both available.
FUN FACTS:
The John A. Sibley Horticultural Center features one of the largest displays of Easter Lilies anywhere with more than 500 Easter Lilies; 200 Asiatic Lilies as well as 150 pots of forced daffodils, 200 forced hyacinths and many more companion plants.

The Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center typically has 1,000 butterflies in free-flight. Special for Celebrate Spring!, we are seeing HOW MANY butterflies we can put in the Butterfly Center. The population is expected to reach as many as 2,500 butterflies!
NEW! Now on Mondays the Birds of Prey team offers guests two new activities: At 10:30 a.m. there is a Species Spotlight featuring a specific bird and at 2:30 p.m. guests are invited to a Training Demonstration to answer the question “how do they do that.”
