Beginning Drawing: Learn to draw with professional method. We will talk about how the brain works when you draw and how an artist sees differently than the average student. This class will change the way the student draws. The correct way to draw is something some have naturally, but it can also be taught.
Ages 7 – 12 : June 4-8 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Parent & Kids Camp: June 25 – 29 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Advanced Art: This is a camp for advanced art student to hone there skills and advance there knowledge. Former Lucas studios students that have reached the advanced level automatically qualify all others will have to show portfolio to join class. Monet and the style of impressionism. We will complete two paintings – a copy of a Monet the other a riverwalk scene.
July 9-13 @ 10:00-12:30
Cost: $125
Shading and Color: This class follows the beginning drawing class where we will further our learning of art by studying the science of light, shadows, and shading techniques. We will then study color theory and how to capture shading in color.
July 23-26 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm

Advanced Art: This is a camp for advanced art students to hone there skills and advance their knowledge. Former Lucas studios students that have reached the advanced level automatically qualify to attend this camp. All others will have to show portfolio to join class. We will work like the studios of the renaissance. Lucas will design and draw the painting, and then each student will complete a certain part of the painting.

Mr. Lucas is a professional portrait artist and muralist with over 25 years of experience. He specializes in photo-real renderings in oils, colored pencils, ink washes and graphite pencil. Lucas is known for his attention to detail and keeping his paintings authentic and historically correct. He is the area’s true renaissance man. Lucas has mastered every medium and also uses his abilities to share his knowledge in his school of art.
