The Fort Benning Wounded Warriors Association (FBWWA) is holding a Torch Run 5K fun run and 10K race. FBWWA is a non-profit, all volunteer group with a simple mission: to enhance the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional condition of the soldiers of Fort Benning’s Warrior Transition Battalion. During the 10K, soldiers from the Warrior Transition Battalion will run with an Olympic torch, symbolizing their commitment to athletic excellence and to honor warrior-athletes who will participate in the 2011 Warrior Games during May in Colorado.
This event is open to everyone! Friends and family members, both military and civilian, are encouraged and invited to participate. While the event is geared toward runners, other participants may walk, push children in strollers or lead their dog in the 5 kilometer “fun walk.”
Saturday, April 30 @ 8:00 am
Corner of 11th Street & Front Avenue, Downtown Columbus
Registration: Click here for a registration form or register online at estartline.com. Online registration closes Friday, April 29 but runners may register on the day of the race until 8:00 AM.
