TOY REVIEW:
Blip Toys’ Large Poseable Hello Kitty Doll
By Sara Davenport
Is it possible that Thanksgiving is already upon us? Soon the turkey will be carved, the food devoured, the dishes washed and put away, and then the realization sets in that there are only 26 shopping days left before Christmas!
If you have little Hello Kitty fans on your holiday shopping list you may want to consider adding Blip Toys’ Large Poseable Hello Kitty Doll to your list. According to Blip Toys’ marketing material this is “the first time Hello Kitty has been offered as a fully articulated large doll that girls can truly play with.”

Wren tested out the Pop Star Hello Kitty Doll. Pop Star Hello Kitty comes with a snazzy aqua and hot pink dress, several bangle bracelets, socks, shoes, and head set microphone. Our little Pop Star arrived at our front door on an especially grumpy afternoon and definitely turned that frown upside down. Here are a few of Wren’s thoughts:
What is your favorite thing about Hello Kitty?
The sparkly bow on her head.
What is your least favorite thing about Hello Kitty?
The part of her bow that isn’t sparkly.
What is your favorite thing to do with Hello Kitty?
Dressing her up. I like taking her clothes off to look at her bathing suit (HK has on blue underwear) and then putting her clothes on again.
What do you wish you could change about Hello Kitty?
She doesn’t play music. I wish she would sing music and dance.
Additional comments from Wren:
I really wanted Princess Hello Kitty. (She saw the marketing material that came in the box.) I wish I could take her bow off and that she had more dresses.
Mom’s thoughts on Hello Kitty:
The Hello Kitty Pop Star doll that we received is attractive and a good size – slightly bigger than your average baby doll. Wren is able to pose her arms and legs with ease and is also able to dress and undress Hello Kitty by herself which is a huge plus. For the first few days that Hello Kitty was with us, she accompanied Wren on her ride to preschool, watched over as Wren took a bath, and even made it under the covers at the end of the day.
Hello Kitty Pop Star comes with several bracelets which are small and could end up in younger children’s mouths. If you have children under age 3 in your house, you may want to put those pieces up and out of reach unless play is being monitored.
