Always investigate the sound of silence!
A quiet child is a sure sign of mischief in our house, unless (of course) he’s taking a nap!
Recently I was working on an article when my mommy-radar went off. My 2-year old was being extremely quiet. A quick search lead me to the bathroom where I found him carefully filling his tennis shoes with water.
Further investigation revealed a trail of water leading into the hallway and ending at a bucket. Apparently I’d been preoccupied for some time, because the bucket had nearly an inch of water in it!
I hastily found him another activity and, as I mopped the floor, made a mental note to pay closer attention next time!
