Two Fathers Day Popcicle Crafts
Father’s Day is coming up. Here are two easy and fun Fathers Day crafts that your kids can make using wooden popcicle sticks and some imagination. Let your children be creative as they paint, assemble and decorate.
Craft #1: Popsicle Stick Frame Craft
What you need:
8 Wooden popsicle sticks
Tempera Paint
Paint brushes
Tape or Hot glue
Picture of your child
Magnet
Stickers, sequins, craft foam, etc.
What to do:
- Protect your work area with newspaper.
- You need 8 popsicle sticks. Let your children paint them whatever color they want.
- When the popsicle sticks are dry, use tape or glue to secure them together. Set aside to dry.
- Once dry, have your kids decorate the frame with stickers, sequins, markers, etc. (We used a hot glue gun to secure leftover magnets to the frame.)
- Use the marker to write “Happy Father’s Day” on the frame.
- Tape a picture of your child to the back of the frame.
- Glue a magnet to the back of the frame as well.
Craft #2: Popsicle Stick Pencil Holder
What you need:
25 Wooden popsicle sticks
Empty can
Tempera paint
Paint brushes
Stickers, sequins, colored foam, etc
Tape or hot glue
What to do:
- Protect your work area with newspaper.
- Paint the popcicle sticks your favorite color. (We chose blue.)
- When the sticks are dry, use tape or glue to secure the sticks next to each other around the can. Make sure the bottom of the sticks line up with the bottom of the can or it will wobble.
- Let your kids add stickers onto the can. (We used leftover sequins from a previous craft to spell out #1 Dad.)
