The Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery will open its doors to highlight and showcase
the work done on station and by the Fish & Wildlife Service.

Attendants will have the opportunity to learn about freshwater fish, mussels, and more. Other activities include a tour of fisheries equipment, guided aquarium tours, and pond demonstrations.
There will be several activities for kids, including a coloring contest and “Name That Mussel” game. There will be prizes for all the games and a door prize raffle.
The facility is a warmwater hatchery that was authorized by Congress in 1898 and established in 1899. The species of fish propagated here do best in summer water temperatures that reach 75 degrees to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Species such as striped bass, sturgeon, and paddlefish are raised here and stocked in cooperation with the various State game and fish agencies.
