“Yoga retrains the stress response not because it is relaxing, but because it is hard. Accepting anxiety and fear and breaking through it, getting real about it, takes their power away and reveals the true power within all of us.” -Rachel Torres
Rachel Torres has designed a workshop combining hatha yoga and practical self defense techniques to create confidence and empowerment. You will learn simple techniques for any person, no matter their size, to take down another person by knowing where and how to strike. Through studying balance, awareness, and breathing through yoga postures and specific meditation techniques, you will learn the practice of protecting both your body and your heart. If you can face the difficult stressors, such as a threat to your life, all other daily stress becomes manageable, and you will begin to see you you really are – strong and powerful.
